What is a Zero Gravity Flight?

A Zero Gravity Flight is a plane ride that recreates the feeling of weightlessness, like astronaut in space. The winner will fly with Zero Gravity Corporation in the United States of America (www.gozerog.com). Their experience includes 15 top loops – that means that once in the air you will have the chance to experience weightlessness 15 times!

How much do these raffle tickets cost?

Each ticket costs €22.50
What is this raffle for? Who is getting the money?
The money raised from the raffle will firstly cover the expenses for sending a person on the ZERO-G flight (which is worth approx €7,000!) – and all remaining money will go toward our fund for sending Irish students attend space related courses, including the International Space University. Thus far we have partially fund at least one student every year to attend the Summer Space Studies Programme or the Masters in Space Studies at the International Space University! See here for details on the people we have funded so far. Space course are usually quite costly to attend and we want to give students a helping hand – unfortunately funding for students to attend space related courses was cut during the recession and has yet to be re-instituted.

Can I buy a raffle ticket for a friend?

Absolutely! However, the raffle tickets are transferable as gifts only and may not be resold.

What do I win?

The winner receives a ZERO-G Experience® flight with Zero Gravity Corporation in the United States of America (www.gozerog.com). This is a parabolic flight that gives you the feeling of being weightless. Your winning ticket covers expenses up to €1,300, which should cover your mandatory medical check, flights to the ZERO G location and accommodation costs for the night before and the night of the ZERO G flight (so no first class flights or 6 star hotels!)

What are the odds of winning?

We are only selling 999 tickets so you have a 1 in 999 chance of winning the ZERO G flight!

When will I find out if I win??!

The draw will take place on 31 January 2019 and the winner will be announced on all social media channels – the details that were provided at the time of purchase will be contacted within 5 days if the draw!

Let us know that you accept the prize by 28 February 2019 and show us your valid raffle ticket!

How do I know if I am healthy enough to go!?

If you win, we will pay for your expenses to get a medical check to ensure you are safe to fly! You will be required to get a medical check either before your ZERO G flight or before 30 March 2019, whichever comes first!

What if I fail the medical check?

You need to be fit to do a ZERO-G Experience® flight. If you do not pass the flight medical, then the prize goes to the first runner up instead 🙁

When do I have to go?

You have to choose a date to go on the ZERO-G Experience® flight by 01 March 2019 – the date you select must be a date that a ZERO G flight is available and be within 2019

Can I bring a friend?

You can bring a friend at your own cost.

How long will the ZERO G flight last for?

Inspire Space is running the competition – we are a non for profit company that organises at least two public outreach events each year in Dublin – we also fund Irish students to attend the International Space University!
